Most clients don't want you to do testing on the dev client which doesn't have data they will provide another client for testing, with data.

As a consultant, you never put stuff in the production environment - you can share screen with clients and guide them on what to do.

one of the first questions with a new client is to ask what the transport process is. Do they have an existing approval workflow, or do we need to setup a new one for them?

When setting up a new client: 1. Define - define the company - Company code 2. Assign - Customers - Credit control area - Business area vs Functional area - Business area - real estate, oil & gas, manufacturing, etc - Functional area - - Revenue/Profit center - Cost center

Special periods of the fiscal year - artificial periods for adjusting (MM, sales, etc)

Questions: - is a transport like a software patch? like a package of code/settings? - Is the approval of transports in-system, or done externally like in email? - How to setup as profit center/company if some branches are controlled by a partner or a subsidiary? -
