barcelona-diversity-intensity-x-complexity-99

World Capital of Architecture. This exhibition is an invitation to observe what a contemporary city is. In the current context, contemporary architecture faces some major challenges, such as adapting to climate change, preserving heritage or striving for people’s health. In this scenario, the city is both the challenge and the laboratory where this is put to the test.

Its exploration is rolled out in three areas. Diversity, allowing us to discover who lives in the city; intensity, to understand how the close relationship between people and community life can generate shared responses; and complexity, which helps us to read relationships that come about in a living Barcelona, which learns and is transformed.

The result is an open space for experiencing Barcelona not as a fixed image, but as a sequence in movement. A city that looks at itself again, questions and reinvents itself, to imagine a fairer, more sustainable and collective urban future.
